Programs can lose accredited status in the following cases:

  • The program's Accreditation certificate or Temporary Accreditation Status notice expires.
See information about maintaining accreditation status for details.

  • The accreditation agency makes the decision to deny the program an accredited status based on the results of an on-site evaluation.
For details on how the outcome of the on-site evaluation is determined, please see the Child Care Accreditation  Evaluation and Scoring Framework.

  • The accreditation agency revokes the program's accreditation status.
Revocation of the accredited status may occur as a result of an accredited program not allowing the agency's validator access to the program's premises necessary for completion
              of an on-site evaluation.

  • The accreditation agency closes the program's file.
When accredited programs fail to comply with the Annual Reporting process, or fail to fulfil any other responsibility of an accredited program.
